Today's Readings
First Reading: Hebrews 7: 25 – 8: 6
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 40: 7-8a, 8b-9, 10, 17
Alleluia: Second Timothy 1: 10
Gospel: Mark 3: 7-12
Reading 1, Hebrews 7:25-8:6
Hebrews 7:25-28 GNBDK
[25] And so he is able, now and always, to save those who come to God through him, because he lives for ever to plead with God for them.
[26] Jesus, then, is the High Priest that meets our needs. He is holy; he has no fault or sin in him; he has been set apart from sinners and raised above the heavens.
[27] He is not like other high priests; he does not need to offer sacrifices every day for his own sins first and then for the sins of the people. He offered one sacrifice, once and for all, when he offered himself.
[28] The Law of Moses appoints men who are imperfect to be high priests; but God's promise made with the vow, which came later than the Law, appoints the Son, who has been made perfect for ever.
Hebrews 8:1-6 GNBDK
[1] The whole point of what we are saying is that we have such a High Priest, who sits at the right of the throne of the Divine Majesty in heaven.
[2] He serves as High Priest in the Most Holy Place, that is, in the real tent which was put up by the Lord, not by human hands.
[3] Every High Priest is appointed to present offerings and animal sacrifices to God, and so our High Priest must also have something to offer.
[4] If he were on earth, he would not be a priest at all, since there are priests who offer the gifts required by the Jewish Law.
[5] The work they do as priests is really only a copy and a shadow of what is in heaven. It is the same as it was with Moses. When he was about to build the Sacred Tent, God said to him, “Be sure to make everything according to the pattern you were shown on the mountain.”
[6] But now, Jesus has been given priestly work which is superior to theirs, just as the covenant which he arranged between God and his people is a better one, because it is based on promises of better things.
Responsorial Psalm, Psalms 40:7-8, 8-9, 10, 17
Psalms 40:7-10, 17 GNBDK
[7] and so I answered, “Here I am; your instructions for me are in the book of the Law. [8] How I love to do your will, my God! I keep your teaching in my heart.”
[9] In the assembly of all your people, LORD, I told the good news that you save us. You know that I will never stop telling it.
[10] I have not kept the news of salvation to myself; I have always spoken of your faithfulness and help. In the assembly of all your people I have not been silent about your loyalty and constant love.
[17] I am weak and poor, O Lord, but you have not forgotten me. You are my saviour and my God — hurry to my aid!
Gospel, Mark 3:7-12
Mark 3:7-12 GNBDK
[7] Jesus and his disciples went away to Lake Galilee, and a large crowd followed him. They had come from Galilee, from Judea,
[8] from Jerusalem, from the territory of Idumea, from the territory on the east side of the Jordan, and from the region round the cities of Tyre and Sidon. All these people came to Jesus because they had heard of the things he was doing.
[9] The crowd was so large that Jesus told his disciples to get a boat ready for him, so that the people would not crush him.
[10] He had healed many people, and all those who were ill kept pushing their way to him in order to touch him.
[11] And whenever the people who had evil spirits in them saw him, they would fall down before him and scream, “You are the Son of God!”
[12] Jesus sternly ordered the evil spirits not to tell anyone who he was.
Dearest Father,
Thank You, Father, for confirming with Your Word that I'm on the right path even though my circumstances tell me otherwise, from the responsorial Psalm.
Psalms 40:9-10 GNBDK
[9] In the assembly of all your people, LORD, I told the good news that you save us. You know that I will never stop telling it.
[10] I have not kept the news of salvation to myself; I have always spoken of your faithfulness and help. In the assembly of all your people I have not been silent about your loyalty and constant love.
It's been 3 days now that I've published my Speakchrist Diaries, my scripture journal, primarily as a way to send journal prompts from the Word of God to my Speakchrist angels who would like to start their own scripture journal so they can hear your instructions clearly day by day.
Second is so that I will have a lasting record of my life and walk with You that could potentially bless many others too.
I'm journaling every day anyway to record your instructions and miracles in my life.
Why not just publish it so hopefully Your people can learn with me what You're teaching me?
But, yesterday, I've really been second-guessing this move because I've a lot of assignments from my online jobs, especially this week and I've only logged in a few hours of work.
That means I haven't earned much yet because I'm paid by the hour and that concern has really been bugging me yesterday.
Should I or should I not be doing this, Father?
Maybe once a week is enough until I've earned passive income to replace my active income from my job to have more free time to do this.
That's why I want to earn passive income, Dearest.
So I could focus my full time and attention to prayer and ministry of the Word.
I love doing this, Father.
I will never get tired of sharing about Your love and goodness in my life.
I could do this all day.
I've even done this without getting paid for years, albeit sporadically, cause I was weak of purpose and fickle in spirit towards God and would lose my focus.
But this year, I've committed to journaling daily to hear Your instructions for the day and I want to be consistently doing it every day.
That's why I'm establishing the SpeakChrist RichLife Club membership.
To invite those dreamers and believers, like me, who are inconsistently acting on their goals and now want to consistently do it this year to join me in this club so we could be consistent together.
Scripture journaling is one of the action goals for Pillar 2, Rock Foundation, of my Richlife Playbook that You have shown me to help me consistently take daily actions to achieve my yearly goals without struggle and discouragement.
I've been doing this sporadically since I came to give my life to You, Jesus in 1995.
Scripture journaling helped me get over my failure in my first job as a nurse committing 3 medication errors.
Scripture journaling helped me clarify what You want me to do after - should I go abroad or stay? Should I remain a nurse or be an insurance agent instead so that I don't have to make medication errors ever again?
Scripture journaling Your words and instructions to me led me to the hospital where I worked for 20 years.
Scripture journaling helped me get my dream hospital job with no night duties, no Sunday and holiday work, and, certainly, no giving of medications.
Scripture journaling led me to get my 2 online jobs when I wanted more flexible time and more income to spend on my family.
Scripture journaling inspired and encouraged me with Your words in my battle last year with my condo foreclosure. I won my condo back just as You said You would help me do.
I've packaged those scripture journal entries in an ebook I called “Foreclose Diaries” to help you have an inside peek into my mind as I wrote in my journal when I experienced that turbulent time.
For a limited time, I'm offering it for free to all my Speakchrist Diaries subscribers. Just give me your email and I'll send you the link to download free. 🎁
Scripture Journaling helped me clarify my dreams and what You want me to be, do, and have - my GodX vision so that I'm dreaming big like earn £1.3M monthly in recurring residual passive profits from my online business this year before the year ends and win financial freedom for myself and my family.
Scripture Journaling finally led me to publishing my daily scripture journal in this Scripture Diaries and establishing the RichLife Club to help God's people implement the Richlife Playbook so they too can start achieving all they said they would be, do and, have by simply living the Richlife in Christ.
Your Word, Jesus, the Living Word, has always been and will always be my Rock Foundation.
Indeed, I cry out together with the Psalmist:
Psalms 40:9-10 GNBDK
[9] In the assembly of all your people, LORD, I told the good news that you save us. You know that I will never stop telling it. [10] I have not kept the news of salvation to myself; I have always spoken of your faithfulness and help. In the assembly of all your people I have not been silent about your loyalty and constant love.
Always to do Your will is my delight, Father. Help me fulfill it perfectly here on earth as it is in heaven.
Psalms 40:7-8 GNBDK
[7] and so I answered, “Here I am; your instructions for me are in the book of the Law. [8] How I love to do your will, my God! I keep your teaching in my heart.”
I love You.
